I came up with Foodietoos after thinking about how my friends and family really love good food and how that feeling is similar, in a way, to the passion people have about choosing permanent tattoos. Since I’m not a tattoo artist, I went with the temporary format; it’s more fun and changeable.
I am also a member of the Park Slope Food Co-op in Brooklyn, New York, and the idea really took hold as a result of being a member there. For each design I thought about some of the most popular items within the different sections of the store. And it was no surprise that what many food co-op members love to eat is also pretty popular with the general population. I also focused on whole foods that can either be eaten as is, or used as an ingredient in your favorite recipe. They are available as a set of eight or individually at The Nancydraws Shop.
