WELCOME TO “EXPAND ON THAT” ➞
It’s a win for me even if you only read these first sentences! I have volumes of messages that “I’ll read [delete] later,” so I can relate. Plus, you’ve at least seen the title and that’s the first step in brand recognition. Translation: We’re off to a great start! Only 5-6 more impressions to go before I truly hook you. I am excited to tell you more about the purpose and what I intend to share with “Expand On That.” [Another shameless title plug!]
2025 Word of the Year
At the start of 2025 I chose “expand” as my word of the year to guide my intentions and stay inspired as I work through an ongoing job search, continuously improve my resilience around anti-racism and -otherism, and share announcements related to my artwork. In a country with increasing threats on communities that are not white, straight, cis-gendered males, I want my inclusive, creative voice out there. I hope this intention will lead to more ideas to expand on.
There’s only so much time one can spend job searching before turning into a fleshy robot, and the newsletter practice is a way to show what I do and things I care about. If you feel moved by my writing—read on for more of that—please respond!

As I mentioned earlier, I am looking for work.
